Schema Markup Validator
Check the JSON-LD structured data on a live page – or paste your own – for syntax errors, missing required properties and the recommended fields that make a rich result more likely.
Free, no sign-up. Our server fetches the public page you enter – nothing is stored.
Our editors review it and distribute it to news sites in the USA, UK, UAE, India and beyond – with a report of every live link.
About this tool
The validator finds every application/ld+json block on the page (and counts Microdata and RDFa items), parses it, expands any @graph, and compares each type with the properties Google needs for its rich result – for example headline, author and datePublished for a NewsArticle.
It also checks details that are easy to miss: FAQ questions without an answer, and authors written as a plain string instead of a Person or Organization. Need to write markup from scratch? Use the schema markup generator.
Frequently asked questions
Does valid schema guarantee a rich result?
No. Valid markup makes a page eligible; Google decides whether to show a rich result based on quality, relevance and the search.
Which format should I use – JSON-LD, Microdata or RDFa?
Google supports all three but recommends JSON-LD, because it sits in one block and is easier to maintain.
Which schema type suits a press release?
NewsArticle (or Article) for the release itself, plus Organization for the company that issued it.
